AMD today made available the ATI Catalyst drivers 10.04 WHQL video card the Radeon HD 2000 series HD 5000 and the latest Windows operating systems. Among the new AMD there are some improvements on the video front, as H.264 Level 5.1 support, which allows the ATI drivers to play streaming player 5.1 on all supported and at high resolutions (4Kx2K). AMD has incorporated in this version for updates regarding transcoding, with improved support for video conversion via Drag and Drop in Windows 7. While Creative has been quite responsive in the summer and last fall to provide drivers compatible with Windows 7 for the majority of its products, it has not been exactly the same for its subsidiary E-Mu, specialized in professional audio equipment. Better late than never having said that, as the first drivers for Windows 7 and E-Mu cards, PCI, PCI Express and PCMCIA finally come to see in version 2.30.00. Unfortunately, this is only beta drivers for which E-Mu listing does not provide any technical support.
These drivers 2.30.00 beta expire June 1, 2010 which suggests that drivers end or at least a new beta version will be launched before that date. Note that the operating systems Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista are also supported by these drivers as the application PatchMix DSP 2.1.
You should also know that the USB MIDI interfaces Xmidi 1×1 and 2×2 Xmidi also benefit from a few weeks of drivers compatible with Windows 7. 1.01.05 This version brings further support for the new interface Xmidi 1×1 Tab.
